Not at all! Many of our students have never touched clay before. We offer beginner-friendly classes that teach the fundamentals in a supportive and encouraging environment.

We offer a variety of ceramics classes and workshops for different experience levels, including beginner, intermediate, and advanced wheel throwing, handbuilding, youth classes, and specialty workshops.

Yes. We offer private group experiences, team-building events, birthday celebrations, and other special gatherings. Contact us to discuss your group's needs.

Registration is available online through our website. Because class sizes are intentionally kept small, we recommend registering early.

Some classes include clay, glazes, and firing. If additional materials or clay are needed for a specific class or workshop, it will be noted in the class description.
Open Studio Membership doesn’'t include clay.

Open Studio access is available to members according to the current membership terms and studio access policies.
Students should only use the studio during the hours and access periods permitted for their specific class or program.

Pottery takes time! Your work must dry completely, be fired in the kiln, glazed, and fired again. Most pieces are ready for pickup approximately 4–8 weeks after your class ends, depending on our firing schedule.

Membership provides access to the studio and its equipment and amenities according to current studio policies and membership terms.
Membership does not include clay.

Open Studio Membership is intended for artists who can work independently and safely without instruction. If you're new to clay, we recommend starting with one of our classes.

Yes. Because Open Studio Members work independently and share equipment and space with other artists, we want to make sure the membership is a good fit for both the artist and the studio.

Foundational Ceramics Experience
Basic understanding of clay processes and ceramic fundamentals
Experience working with clay independently
Familiarity with basic handbuilding and/or wheel throwing techniques
Ceramics Knowledge
Understanding of different clay bodies and their uses
Knowledge of the stages of clay, including drying, leather hard, bone dry, and finished work
Basic understanding of firing processes and glazing techniques
Studio Safety & Responsibility
Understanding of proper studio safety practices
Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace
Knowledge of safe handling of clay, tools, equipment, glazes, and studio materials

Yes. Glassman Clay Studio is a shared workspace, and everyone is expected to contribute to a clean, safe, and respectful studio environment.
All students and members are expected to follow studio safety procedures, clean their workspace and equipment after use, and treat other artists, instructors, staff, and studio property with respect.

To protect our kilns and maintain consistent firing results, only approved clay bodies may be used in the studio. Please check with studio staff before bringing in any outside clay.
We bisque fire at Cone 04 and glaze fire at Cone 6.

At this time, kiln rental is available to Open Studio Members only. Members may fire work within the amount included with their membership. An additional kiln rental fee may apply for excess amounts of work.

Cancelation Policy for website:
By registering for a class or workshop, you agree to the following cancellation policy:
· Student Cancellations: You may receive a full refund if you cancel at least 2 weeks before the class start date.
· Less Than 2 Weeks: No refunds are available for cancellations made less than 2 weeks before the class begins.
· Missed Classes: We cannot provide refunds, credits, or make-up classes for missed sessions, early departures, or no-shows.
· Low Enrollment: Classes with low enrollment may be postponed or canceled at the instructor's discretion. If this occurs, students will be notified at least one week before the class start date whenever possible.
· Instructor or Studio Cancellation: If Glassman Clay Studio or the instructor cancels a class, you will receive a full refund of your tuition.
· Unforeseen Circumstances: Requests related to unforeseen circumstances will be evaluated and approved on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of Glassman Clay Studio.
