Our Philosophy

The Glassman Clay Center is a program of the Art League, based in Hendersonville, NC.  Our 4500 SQ Buildng is conveniently located on Asheville Hwy - a central location for the region.  There is plenty of free parking.   People of all skill levels and abilities are encouraged to come experience the joy and benefits of working with clay. We prioritize individual goals, with demonstrations to reinforce a good foundation. Focus is on one-to-one instruction with small classes to help bring your personal goals to fruition. It is a space to learn new techniques and working styles and gain feedback from your peers when needed.The latest expansion includes a new Members’ Area, offering 24/7 studio access for ceramic artists while creating separate workshop and classroom spaces. This enhancement supports both professional and recreational potters by providing a focused, well-equipped environment for artistic growth.

Located at 2015 Asheville Highway in Hendersonville NC, the Studio is designed for accessibility, with ample parking, a loading dock, and ramp access. Members of the Stuart Glassman Clay Studio also benefit from exclusive opportunities to exhibit their work at the Art League’s Art Place Gallery in Hendersonville’s 7th Avenue Historic District — the city’s emerging arts hub.

Beyond member access, the Studio offers opportunities for artists to teach and take classes, building a robust cycle of creative exchange. The Art League is also expanding its team of studio assistants to support the growth of programs and maintain safe, professional facilities.
