Studio Manager, Hannah Gambino

I'm constantly finding inspiration through fluid lines and vivid color, characters and cartoons, and the natural world and animals. I'm nonrestrictive with how I express my inner conversation, leading to intersection of representation and whimsy through both painting and ceramics.

Having been a Studio Assistant and Instructor at Odyssey Clayworks for 2 years, I have enveloped myself in the ceramic craft and am dedicated to a welcoming environment for all students of any age and ability.

I hold a Bachelor's in Art, concentration in Painting, with a North Carolina K-12 Art Teaching License, from the University of North Carolina Asheville thusly am excited to work where anyone is at in their creative journey. I encourage exploration!

Instructor, Molly Angel

I’ve been creating for as long as I can remember.  There was never a time when I decided to become an artist; I just always was one.

My work is informed by an affinity for fiber arts and surface design that I developed in college.  This appealed to me because I am innately drawn to line, color, and pattern for their own sake as much as tools in the artist’s kit. Realism does not tempt me but I would offer a surreal and unique lens to view the world.  I’ve been influenced by the work of Spanish folk artist Juan Romero Fernandez, contemporary painters Este McCleod and Sue Davis, and many others.  Pottery has been a long love relationship.  I learned to throw a pot on the wheel at age 17 and have never stopped enjoying it.  Functional pottery has both challenged and rewarded me as I am always honing forms and glazes and designs.

Whether painting or printmaking, pottery or fiber arts, I find inspiration in the world around me, in ideas I see and read and feel.  My creativity springs forward as a treasured inheritance from the Creator in whose image I live and move and have my being.
